It sounds like it may be a corneal abrasion - basically your cornea is scratched. It is common with contacts, but can also happen by rubbing your eye or getting something in your eye. Time is the best and only rememdy. Drops the numb your eye help alot but are prescription only.

: I need some advice. I have been having irritation in my left eye only. It feels like there is something in there but there isn't anything I can see. It also burns a lot but it is not red. It is also hurting a lot. I have tried different kinds of drops which help some but not entirely relieved. Any suggestions? I do not wear contacts or anything like that but I do have severe allergies. An info would be appreciated.

: Susan
