I have experienced Optic Migraines off and on for about 25 years. The first time it happened I was terrified as other posts have mentioned. I did see an Opthalmalogist and was told that I was experiencing the classic symptoms of Optic Migraine. It is almost as though half of my vision in my left eye distorts and I see geometric shapes and jagged lines. At times there are glittery designs and sometimes I experience a view that looks blurry as though I'm looking through heat waves coming up from hot sand or pavement. It is quite hard to describe. This usually goes away in about 20 to 45 minutes. There is no pain involved.
