: I am looking for people with the eye condition of angioid streaks. My 49 year old brother has been diagosed with this and we need all of the help we can get on this subject. Thank you for any help you can give us.
There is a hereditary disorder called Pseudoxanthoma elasticum or PXE. Usually people with PXE have angioid streaks. It is a connective tissue disorder and perhaps you should visit this site: http://www.pxe.org/
I'm not saying that's what is the cause, but most people with angioid streaks have bleeds and lose central vision. So have it checked by an ophthamologist and also a dermatologist as it affects the elasticity in the skin and arteries. The site I mention is a very good site. You can get most info you need there.
