: i have heard there is a new way of doing cataract surgery (micro-something). it just came along in the last couple of years and is less invasive than the old way.
: can anyone tell me what it's called and anything else about it. my mother is about to have cataract surgery in the next month or so.

I believe that is called PTK Phototheraphy Keratectomy. (Uses a excimer laser) I understand that the healing is much quicker than a corneal transplant. I have just learned that I need a corneal transplant & I am not sure where you would have this done.
