: I have RP and have problems with light glare at night. Somewhere I heard that the vitamin Lutien could help reduce the amount of glare.
: I haven't seen this information anywhere else and am not sure if Lutien is a legitimate treatment for the glare.
: Does anyone have any info. on the whether or not Lutien will help this problem?

This substance has not been shown to be of any specific benefit to RP in any literature I have read. It is recommended for macular degeneration patients, primarily to be consumed in the form of green leafy vegetables, especially spinach. We do not kow the efficacy of this in suppliment form. I would say eat your green leafy vegetables. It shoundn't hurt you andthe nutrional benefit alone would make it worthwhile. Too many people are willing to sell you unproven remedies just to make a quick buck.
