My 2 year old son has a chronic eye infection in only his right eye. We have used many many kinds of medications (antibiotics, steroids, allergy). I am concerned at the amount of antibiotics we have used in the last 2 years. This child is never infection free for more than a few weeks.
We have gone to a pediatric opthmalogist surgeon. We have done 2 surgeries on the right eye for a blocked tear duct/sinuses. THE PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED.
Then I am told it must be an allergy. The allergy meds have made little difference. I was told after surgery (Oct 2000) that it must be an allergy since the tear ducts are fine. He said he was perplexed by some lumps on the inside bottom eye pocket. He felt these were caused by allergies. Please tell me what kind of doctor I should be seeing?!?!?! The problem is obviously not fixed after 2 years of this! I live in the N.E. Wyoming area. We have been dealing with this area's major Eye Institute. Any ideas?? Thanks!
