: : : I am just wondering if anyone has ever heard of optic migraine, I kind of lost my peripheral vision, then saw a sparkle show, then it went away. I am now absolutely petrified. A friend of mine had similar symptoms and her opthamologist told her she had, optic migraines. I have been searching for some info. about it. Please help if you can. I am scared to death and a nervous wreck. Please help. Thanks

: : Yes, I have been experiencing such optic migraines for over two years. My opthamologist has assured me that everything is o.k. with my eyes, but I've still been quite concerned.

: On three separate occasions I lost complete vision in my left eye for about 3-4 minutes. After the first time my doctor referred me to a neurologist who ran tests and concluded that nothing was wrong and it would probably never happen again. So, when it did, I called my doctor and this time was referred to an opthamologist. He says I am experiencing optic migraines. I am still not convinced. Does this sound like anything you or your friend has experienced??

I have been suffering from optic migraines for over 10 years; I have no headache associated with them but have partial loss of vision for a few minutes followed by bright jagged lights for 20-25 minutes. Afterwards I often feel dizzy, disoriented and have memory problems. I have had a brain cat scan and other medical tests and no reason has been found for this condition. Sometimes I will have two attacks in one day or three in a week and then I might go for a month or more with no further attacks. Jeannine
