I feel all the same feelings that you do. I've been turned down once by SS and my LTD insurance. I've filed an appeal to both of them, and so far nothing. I was diagnosed just over 2 years, but had been going back and forth to doctors since 1973. And you are so right, it does get worse as we get older. It takes more time to get up and get moving, if at all, and more help is needed in getting dressed and undressed or in doing a simple household chore. I've often thought that I'd hire a maid service, but with no money coming in since May, not sure that I can afford it. I was put out on disability in November 1999--it's hard to believe that a year has gone by already. I had worked up to that point. I knew that each day it was getting harder and harder to get up, but wasn't really sure why. And then more and more headaches which would stop a horse. Finally a diagnosis. I still have a good day now and again, but they are definitely getting further and further apart. And I am not looking forward to the winter months with the way I feel already. But if you need to vent, this is the place to do it--everyone here is great. Good luck at your hearing.
