: It's been about 2 months since my surgery, and I've just received permission to drive & to trade in the surgical booties for canvas shoes. The problem is, I cannot find any shoes that are comfortable - and I've been to 5 shoe stores so far. One of my big toes is not laying down flat, and as it remains rather sensitive on top, wearing regular shoes (even wide ones w/ roomy toe boxes) is uncomfortable. The dr. will take yet another set of x-rays next month and might remove the screws then if things have not improved. Is it possible that he over corrected & tighted the tendon too much in an effort to correct the problems? The dr. is unhappy about the very limited range of motion and blames me for not exercising the joint sufficiently. I have done the exercises - but not 100X/day as they continue to be painful. Unless I spend the next 30 days on Percocet (not a good idea) I can't see much progress being made in the joint movement. Suggestions would be appreciated.
What procedure did they use? Did you use a orthopedic surgeon or a board certified podiatrist?
