Hello everyone - I'm new on the board and have major concerns RE my feet. Here goes I am 37 have bunions on both feet and pain. Have gone to a podiatrist and he recommended orthotics 2 yrs ago. I wear them 100% of the time. If I dont my feet feel like they are literally falling apart as I walk. My right foot was wider than my left and more painful. Now my left is catching up its widening and haveing shooting pains. In otherwords my feet are getting worse. I have gone to two podiatrists and they say I do not want to go the surgery route, just take anti-inflamatories and live with it. There is nothing to be done. One podiatrist didn't even think I should get the orthotics.
I find this attitude shocking and frightening. I am at my wits end and do not know what to do. I can only watch and feel my feet worsening.
HELP - Does anyone have any advise?
PS - I had gone to a podiatrist 10 yrs ago who said I needed surgery back then or else I would have difficulty walking by the time I'm thirty-something. I did not take his advise then because of denial that there was nothing wrong. He has since moved to the States - I am situated in Toronto - Canada. I very much regret not taking his wise advise back then.
