: Has anyone else experienced heel fractures. I fell approx. 20 and broke both my heels. I'm still in a considerable amount of pain and was wondering what latent effects I may experience in the future. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I fractured the calcaneous in my left foot 11 years ago. It never healed bone to bone and i have had periodic problems for the last 11 years. This past year i suffered a stress fracture which the ortho blamed on the old fracture. I am scheduled for sugery in September to hopefully correct all of these - it has been getting progressively worse and more and more painful - have been wearing a boot since december. Hope you don't encounter the problems i have.
