I've recently received my orthotics for my flat feet/heel pain, etc. and have been using them (most days)
for the past 3 weeks. But I'm really frustrated. I can only wear them in my sneakers and in one pair of
other flats I have. When I place them in my business shoes (flats or high heels), they raise my foot right
out of the shoe. Heel grips don't help much.
Even worse, I'm a AA heel. It's hard enough just to find narrow-heeled shoes that look decent with work
suits and dresses. Now I have to find narrow-heeled shoes that also work with the orthotics.
Having looked at what's in the stores, I've decided that it's totally unrealistic to expect a
businesswoman (or a woman going out for the evening), wearing either business suits or dresses,
to wear the kind of lace up shoes I'm seeing out there. And I've tried on a couple of pairs
of shoes with a wide strap that you buckle. (Those look great if you're about 10.)
I'm really disappointed and am hoping someone can help me find a catalog or specialty store that makes
decent looking shoes for women with foot problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Otherwise, I'll end up wearing the orthotics only sporadically.
