I am 34 years old, and have severe problems with my toe joint. I have been to doctors on and off since I was 14. I have been tested for Gout, and awhile back told I might have Osteoarthritis. I am in severe pain right now, and it is the same symptoms as the ones Mary described. Very severe pain with touch, or anything involving rolling the joint, as in walking. It throbs when I get the eposodes.

I am wondering what the prognosis is for someone my age with this disease. I am also very worried about it potentially spreading to other parts of my body? Any feedback would be very much appreciated, I just found this site.
