Sara-
I had the dislocation (and fractures) two years ago. I had the screws in for 14 weeks. I have seen 5 orthopedic doctors and they all agree--this is a "serious injury", no high heel shoes forever, and walking and standing will need to be limited. I'm sorry that their isn't better news, but maybe everyone recovers differently. 2 years post injury, I walk with a cane because extended walking and standing causes me a lot of pain. I wear modified Rockport shoes that have a rocker sole and am unable to get back to running for exercise. I hope for you that this is not the case. Since your screws are in for a shorter period than I had, maybe the injury wasn't as serious. Feel free to respond to this board if you have any questions for me. I hope you improve to your old self and can resume hockey in no time. Best regards.
