: : :My son was recently diagnosed with seaver's. Other than rest and heat and cold compresses, how can someone get over it? Is it outgrown?
: It's not a disease but rather a syndrome... it only describes what the patient has. It was explained to me that it's a common growing ailment. Rest and care until the symptom goes away is best. If peersistent, then further medical care is required.
My son, age 11 has Seaver's as well. The treatment is a cast on his foot. He has had x-rays. Is this the best/only treatment? I lived through this at age 13 with heel cups and pads, but with a related disease in my knees, I had casts as well. Is the cast really needed, or do you just normally grow out of it, like I did with my heels?
