: I was looking up something else when I came across this message board and read everyone's messages. My heart goes out to you. I had heel spurs for a couple of years. They got so bad that I would wake up crying at night. I went to 2 different doctors. I didn't get any relieve from the first and being the impatient person I am, I wasn't willing to wait another 2 years before I could enjoy working in my yard or even getting up in the morning and walking instead of crawling. I had the injections. 2 in each heel. Not as painful as the spur but not on my list of enjoyable things. I tried insoles, and anti-inflamatory drugs.I heard another foot doctor spoken of very highly so I went to see him. He was the first to actually x-ray my feet. hmmmm. He showed me the spurs and we tried physical therapy and different insoles. It seemed to be getting worse so I opted for surgery. To tell the truth, I was really excited that I was finally going to get all of this behind me. I had the left foot done on May 31. I was in a cast for a week, then a UNNA boot for 2 weeks (changed each week) then back in my tennis shoes. It has been 6 weeks since that one and the scar is barely noticeable. I only feel it when I've been on my foot for a long time but it's getting better fast. I had my right foot done 2 weeks ago. I am leaving to go to the doctor in a minute to get my wrapping changed. This will be the last week and I am supposed to be able to put pressure on it now. Actually, I've been walking on it for a few days already. I'm raising my 2 year old grand daughter so somethings can't be avoided. I am so glad I had the surgery and I recommend it highly. I didn't want any chance that those spurs will come back!!! The pain goes away pretty quick. Hang in there!
which surgery did you have sandee please email me back
