: I bought a pair of New balance walking sneakers and everything was fine until I started wearing my shoes a bit more so now when I do put my sneakers on and walk it hurts my arch as well as my ankle. I have been told I need orthotics, but they are very expensive and for now I though these sneakers would be good because they apparently are good for foot problems and anyways maybe I just need to get use to them, please any advice would be greatly appreciated

I've had prescription orthotics for over 10 years (am on my second pair) and they're covered under your health insurance, if you have any.
Good luck
