I suffered with foot pain for over 3 years, visiting 4 different doctors, received lots of useless advice from wrapping my ankle, to orthotics, to prescription pain relievers, a speed wrap, a cad boot, and finally surgery for torn ligaments. I spent 6 weeks in a wheelchair, 6 more weeks on crutches and in a cad boot, 6 more weeks back in the speed wrap, and you would never believe how I am getting relief (finally!)
I was forced to change jobs and was lucky enough to get a job as a receptionist at a Chiropractor's office. He has been working on my foot 3 times a week for the past 2 weeks, and I am finally having some pain free hours! My front and back arches were out and all my bones were jammed, even my toes. Once he got things back where they belonged, the pain and swelling left. I still will have months to go til the scar tissue gets broken up and the ligaments heal, but I honostly believe that had I not begun seeing him, my foot never would've been right. How can it heal when the bones weren't in place? Would I have been on prescription pain killers for the rest of my life?
I consider this a God send, and would encourage persons with cronic foot pain to go to a good Chiropractor who knows sports injuries. I am just a middle aged woman who stood on concrete for hours doing lifting and twisting. Only one foot went bad on me, and 4 months after surgery, I finally am seeing some light at the end of this tunnel. I almost forgot,
ice, ice, ice! Also, foot exercises...ask a professional for advice! Good luck and happy healing!
