My doctor used dissolving pins. But, I believe only part of the pin dissolves. Whatever the case,
I will not have to have pins removed. My advice after surgery is to do EXACTLY what the doctor
says - ask if you are not sure. Don't listen to what others say about what they did and when
after surgery - the experience in terms of healing time is unique. If you can take off for at least
4 weeks - I took off 8 weeks because I wanted tobe totally out of the clear. I didn't want to have
to worry about propping my feet up at work, popping a stitch, or popping the pin for that matter.
You just tend to be a little more active at work - so stay home if you can. Write me if you need
more advice.
: HI...My doctor is intending to use a type of pin that is absorbed by the body, thus eliminating the need for pin removal.....
: Has anyone heard of this or had experience with such a thing???
: And finally, what was the most important thing one can do to recover in the best way possible after surgery?
: Thanks alot,
