I hope someone can help me with this. Many nights,I will awakwen from a sound sleep, by severe cramping in my feet. Sometimes it's in both feet, sometimes it's in one foot, not always in the same place. My toes will spread apart and strain so hard involuntarily, and I have to "wiggle" them back and forth, with my hand,to get them to relax and go back into their normal positions.Sometimes my arch gets the cramp, and i must get up and walk (VERY painful) to encourage it to relax again.Sometimes it's the entire top of my foot. This has been going on for about 5 years, but it's getting more frequent, and becoming harder to control. It ALWAYS happens at night while I'm sleeping, and when I go through a "bout" with it, it's not uncommon for me to be up and down with it 10 times in an 8 hour period. When i finally get my foot (feet) to relax, when i go back to bed, i can feel the nerves in my feet "jumping"... If i stretch my foot while this is happening, it begins the severe cramping again, and my foot and toes move involuntarily into positions that are abnormal. PLEASE, if you have this problem, or know anything about it, please let me know!!!
