I recently had a pedicure for the first time and noticed about 2 weeks later that my big toenail had split from one side to about half way to the other side almost as far back as my cuticle. One side of the nail is completely still in tact with the skin but the other side is completely detached and that side of the nail has fallen off, so I basically have half of my nail left just hanging there. Can anyone tell me what to do next? Will my nail grow back automatically or do I need to have the entire thing removed and start over? How long will it take to grow back? Also, what would proper care of the toenail entail for now? Hoping someone can help.
