: I had a bunionectomy and osteotomy(where they had to cut the bone also because mine was so bad). i have to be on crutches with a cast for up to 8 weeks. It's been almost 4 weeks now and I've noticed that my toe nails are not growing back. Does anyone know why? Does it have something to do with the healing process? I still have 3 pins in my foot. I'm just starting to get a little nervous.Any feedback would be great!!!
It's common for toenails to temporarily stop growing or grow
very slowly after stress to the body, or body area.
They can temporarily stop after surgery, or a heart attack, etc.
