: : Dear Susan:
: : As a physician, we try to use our best judgement to offer the best care to our patients. In my humble opinion, if you went through a series of injections on one foot and they did not significantly improve your symptoms, after two rounds of injections and ultrasound on the other foot, I would recommend surgery. Yes, I believe you are prolonging the inevitable. A question for you, however. Did you heal well from your first surgery? If you had a lengthy recovery and many complaints following the first foot, some doctors get a little skittish about operating again. Good luck.
: Yes, the surgery on the right foot was a success - every once in a while I get a twinge of pain
: in it but for the most part, it is much improved. So I'm not afraid to go ahead and have it done
: on the other foot; I was hoping maybe I'd get lucky and the injections would work this time but
: it's not looking very optimistic. Thanks for your reply. --Susan
