I've had one for a couple of years. They are so deep that only a podiatrist has much of a chance of getting rid of them, but for less than $10 I bought some Tinamed patches (salicylic acid). After using 4 patches in 8 days the surface 'lump' peeled off in the tub giving me great relief for the last several months. Pretty much the same chemical that is used for corns and calluses, I think. Good luck!
