: In my ninth month of pregnancy, my feet swelled up badly and I started to experience pain in the instep of both feet. Well, I had the baby in May, my feet have gone back to their normal size, but I'm still feeling that pain in the instep! It hurts worst when I wake up in the morning, and after I have been sitting for a long time. I thought it was one of the many weird things that happen to your body during pregnancy, but no-one else seems to have experienced it. Any ideas? Incidentally, I do walk a few miles a day, and wear Reebok walking sneakers for most of the day.
: Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.
I have the same symptoms you are describing and I found out from the doctor today that it is an inflamed plantar fascia. The doctor has given me medicine for the inflamation and has sent me to physical therapy. I am also having inserts made for my shoe. In the literature he gave me it said that it could take up to 6 months to fully heal. He said that if I hadn't came in to get it taken care of that I would have eventually got a heel spur. Good Luck!
