I had plantar fasciaitis surgery in 5/99. Recovery was going well then about 6 weeks later, I developed a pain that went through my entire feet. It seemed to be on the top and insides of my feet. They throb some, get warm, and hurt when I walk. I had a nerve conduction test done but it didn't show much. Referred to neurologist to check for tarsal tunnel. He didn't feel that is what it was. He has since had me on Neurontin, Amitriptylene, and currently, Tegretol. He called it a neuropathy. Have also seen an orthopedic Dr. and tried physical therapy. I finally got someone to send me for an MRI and it showed I have a herniated disc at L5/S1. These nerves appear to go over the foot where my pain is. I met with a neurologist who does not feel my disc is causing my feet problems. I also have sciatic pain over left buttocks/thigh. I thought for sure the neurosurgeon would tell me the disc was causing my feet pain. I am now feeling down and don't know where to go next. Does anyone have any suggestions/comments? I would appreciate anything to look into. Thank you for any help.
