Becky--- I had my bunion surgery in 1996. The cartilage was so hammered the doctor put a great toe joint implant in also---I had the works--took approx. 6 weeks as I call to feel OK.... Still to this day I can't bend my toe all th way-- I get needle feeling pain deep inside---It was like trading in 1 pain for 3 new pains---but overall I would have to say it helped....

: I have a bunion on my right foot. It has gotten worse over the last few yrs. and MUCH worse over the last 6 mos. I finally got up the courage to go see a Podiatrist. Have an appointment this week. From all the info I have gathered, the only real cure for the pain is surgery.
: Believe it or not, I am 47 and I have never had any kind of surgery. Needless to say, I am very concerned. Has anyone else had this surgery? Is it extremely Painful? How long does recovery take?
: Any info would be appreciated.
