: I had bunion surgery on the 20th of this month (June). I am only 19 years old so I'm not too sure how relevant me writing to you is. I had both my feet done as well as 2 hammertoes and I also had to have my second toes shortened, so basically I had the works done. It has been 4 days since I had the surgery and I must admit the last few days have been quite painful. I haven't really been able to walk very far without having alot of pain. But as the days progress it is getting easy to cope with. As for driving your son to school I think you should be right after 3 weeks. I hope all goes well for you and good luck with your surgery.
: : Having bunion surgery done on one foot in August and boy am I scared! I have heard many horror stories about how painful it is! Would love to know: Is my podiatrist an okay choice to do it rather than an orthopedic surgeon? How long will the pain be unbearable? Will I be able to comfortably take my son to college three weeks after my surgery? I am having I.V. sedation in the hospital (outpatient) and am 48 years old. Any feedback on your experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hello JoAnne. I hope you are doing well after all that. I too have them on both feet but will probably do one at a time. I'm sure because of your young age you were able to have both done.
Didn't realize that they would do so many procedures at once though. How long were you in surgery? Are you on lots of pain medicine? Also wondering if you are wearing surgery shoes or after all that did you end up with heavy casts?
Im sure you will heal fast. Good luck with your recovery.
