: Hi guys,
: Just wanting to know if anyone here has had to have pins in their toes removed...? I had a bunionectomy as well as 2 hammer toes with pins placed in them (they stick out the top of my feet) to straigten them out. I am a bit worried about the removal of these pins. I'd like to know how they are removed, and if any sort of pain killer is used?? Thanks...

Hi Joanne,
I also had two pins that stuck out the top of my big toe (bunionectomy 5/5/00. I don't know your pain tolerence, but I had absolutely no pain at all. No pain killers were used the doctor just pulled them out with small medical type pliers 1,2,3 and it was over. I was more shocked than pained. Even the doctors assistant said to me wow some people scream and cry but you are pretty good. Believe me I am not a sadist. To each his/her own I am just telling you my experience.
