: I had foot surgery about 1 1/2 years ago and ever since then have had problems with the nails/toes that were worked on not growing. My nail WILL NOT grow. My podiatrist put me on Sporonox, but they won't grow. It's like a very high layer of nail forms on top of another nail but nothing goes forward and there's no gap at all between the skin and what I do have a nail. He suggested toenail removal as sometimes these nails get "velcroed down" and just can't grow out. Has anyone heard of this dilemma? How long does it take for your nails to grow out and is there a chance they won't grow back at all? He recommended either the removal of the nails or trying that other drug (Starts with an "L") but I'd have to be on it 3 months and it may not even work (would it force the nail to grow??) Sorry so long, but I'm very concerned over what my next step will be. Thanks for any and all input!
Stepehanie. i heard of something like this because my cousin had it and i think that you should just wait it out. My cousin tonails have just start growing. Yes it may take some time but eventually it will grow between the next year, since you said it has already been a year
