I'am a 36 year old female and I recently went to the doctor for severe pain in my right heel. It hurts when I get up in the morning and most of the day. After I walk for about an hour the pain is so bad for days that I can not walk. He took an xray and found several large heel spurs that he said are to big to be treated with medicine. He thinks I need surgery. He has refered me to a podiatrist. I see in all the messages on here everyone says they seen an orthopedic doctor. Should I reconsider the Podiatrist and go with a orthopedic specialist? I do not want to have some doctor mess up my feet. I plan on having surgery on a Friday and return to work on a Monday. Do they cast your foot after surgury?
