: I was bitten by a deer tick 5 weeks ago. The tick was left on me for about 3 days. The place will not heal. It itches constantly and when I scratch the scab a clear puss comes out. Should I be concerned?

Yes Lori you should be concerned.

It is unlikely that you have lyme disease as most ticks are not infected. Even an infected tick has to bite you for one or two days to pass the infection.

What's important are two things.

The wound is not healing. That could be some other kind of problem easy to fix in the early stages.

And lyme disease is also very easy to fix in the early stages.

Please get medical attention immediately while things are easy and inexpensive to treat.
