I had a very bad case of pneumonia a year ago last May. No coughing, runny nose or trouble breathing. Just a temperature that jumped from 99.5 to 105 in 3 days. On the third day, I woke up feeling like my ribs were broken. Bad pain. X-Rays showed pneumonia. I was hospitalized for a week. The pain went away the first several days of IV antibiotics then came back. Now, a year and a half later, I still have it. It was only on my right side in the ribs. It spread from the front ribs to include the back. Now it seems to be starting in my left ribs. Pleurisy has been ruled out. Doctors now think neuritis, but prednisone has no effect. It can get so bad that I have trouble taking a deep breath. The only things that help are consistent exercise, and therapeutic cupping which a nursing friend from the old country is doing. This has gotten rid of the rib pain in back. The front left and right sides are a problem. If anyone has a suggestion on treating (getting rid of)this, it would be greatly appreciated.
