Sometimes people can get relief by taking a calcium - magnesium supplement if there is this mineral deficiency.

A regular muscle stretching program may also give relief if the problem is tight muscles.

It may be necessary to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis if these simple approaches do not help.

: Sometimes, almost always at night when I'm lying in bed, I will get a really bad cramp in the thigh area of my right leg. It seems to happen if I stretch my leg a certain way. It hurts so bad that I can't even walk on it because if I do, it seems to get worse. All I can do is wait for the pain to go away, which seems to last from 3-7 minutes. Can anyone please tell me what causes this, and what I can do to prevent it from happening again? Thank You!
