Adam
My husband is also a GWV suffering from depression. He has been sick since 12/96. His therapist says he is depressed because he is sick and nobody can find out what is wrong with him. He said there is something funny going on with his nervous system. We have been in and out of 8 different hospitals and nothing yet. Along with the depression, headaches, memory loss, and fatigue, he also has some sort of "spells" that sometimes leave him temporarily paralyzed. He is currently on the doxycycline that Dr. Nicholson suggests (for mycoplasma) and we are trying to get in touch with Dr. Haley from Texas who believes this stuff has affected the central nervous system. How long have you been having problems and have you registered with the Gulf War registry? Have you been to any VA hospitals? (most of the time that is a joke and waste of time)but you need to have all this documented on your files (if they don't get lost like ours did at one point) Sorry I sound so negative but I have had it up to my eyeballs with the Va and the DOD. All we want is for my husband to get well. He can only work about 2 hours a day and we have been turned down twice for benefits. They won't even help him with all his medicines. Take care and let us hear from you.
Debbie
