I was born in Dubai and lived there till I was fifteen. I was there during the war. I haven't been well probably since I came to the States. I don't like doctors because I've always felt like they're so dismissive, but I finally went earlier this year. I was diagnosed with sub-acute thyroiditis, which finally seems to be resolving itself (they said they couldn't medicate), but I'm still not well. I'm exhausted all the time, but I have a hard time sleeping. I have intermittent fevers, extreme dizziness, I go deaf in both ears sometimes during exertion, right now I have a rash on my back (dime sized, not itchy), cloudy lymphatic membranes(?), lymph nodes that go up and down like a yo-yo. My fevers come about every 10 - 14 days now and peak at 103 - 104. I usually vomit once, but the joint and bone pain is unbelievable. The fevers last for no more than 8 hours. I have occasional numbness in my hands and feet. I lost control of my left foot tonight. It sounds weird but my big toe crossed all the way under the toe next to it! I couldn't move it but it was like a combination of numbness and excruciating pain! My endo ordered a CBC recently to rule out leukemia, the CBC came back normal but he didn't do a sed rate. Do these symptoms match up with GFS?? If they do, does anyone know any doctors in Va who would take me seriously and not look at me like I have six heads? To all you guys who stopped by Dubai, I might have met you at Chicago Beach Village or the Metro, the Sherrifs...all those other places, you guys were a blast! Hope you're all getting the respect you deserve.
