Re:Remicade treatment I have just started my treatment and will be going for my second treatment tomorrow. Remicade is an intervenus infusion that takes aprox. 2 hrs. The medication is very expensive. If you cannot afford it your Dr. will tell you how to get funding. Just ask your GI doctor. As for me I was in remition for 6 years then I became sick again. Now for the last 3 years I have been so sick non stop. when my bowels settled down I was left with painful arthitis in almost all my major joints. I have had so many cortisone injections. Also I have peri-rectal abcesses that are relentless and very painfull. I finaly gave in and was going to have a surgical consiltation and I already know I would have to have a perminent colostmy. My new Dr. asked me if I would like to try Remicade. With in two weeks I was having my 1st treatment. The very next day after treatment I got out of bed walked down the hallway and was amazed that I could walk with no pain. With in a couple of days the drainage from my abcesses were less then not at all. this medication for me worked so fast I feel like I was given another chance. S you should talk to your Dr. and give it a try. Best of luck to you. : : Remicade Infliximab experimental drug ... what information can i receive on this drug. a friend has severe crohns desease and needs information as soon as possible. she's had surgery and this might be her only hope before she needs to live the rest of her life with " the bag".
