: : : I HAVE JUST DISCOVERED SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION ON THE DRUDGE REPORT REGARDING GULF WAR VICTIMS AND URANIUM POISONING. DR. ASAF DURAKOVIC , PROFESSIOR OF NUCLEAR MEDICINE AT GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY, HAS SOME INTERESTING FINDINGS ABOUT LIFE-THREATENINGLY HIGH LEVELS OF DEPLETED URANIUM IN GULF VETERANS. THE DEPLEATEDURANIUM IS A WEAPONS-GRAD URANIUM AND USED TO STRENGTHEN THE TIPS OF SHELLS TO ENSURE THEY PIERCE ARMOUR. PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE AND GIVE ME YOUR INPUT. THANKS TO YOU FREDA FOR YOUR CARE AND CONCERN. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WEIGHT GAIN IN SPURTS AND HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY DOCTORS NOT TO DO ANY STRENUOUS EXERCISE BECAUSE THE MUSCLES ONCE TORN DOWN BY EXERCISE WILL NOT REBUILD. PLEASE LET ME HEAR FROM YOU. GOD SPEED.
: : Hi Donny,
: : First of all, thank you for thinking of me and I only do what I can. I just came across this information on the findings of the DU on a post that I read in Desert-Storm.com's bulletin board. Abother person was talking about it. Of course I already knew that it was used in the Gulf, (can't publically say how) but I know. I got so angry that I E-Mailed a very straight forward letter to Al Gore who is suppose to be FOR the Veterans. Well I more or less gave him a piece of my mind and what I thought of him and his so called BOSS. I told him that I at least hope HE had the gutts enough to write me back. If you would like to read that post I read, it's located at: http://www.desert-storm.com/board/Forum1/HTML/000206.html
: : This is also another good place for info. If you have a problem locating it let me know. You can e-mail me at Tndeer1@aol.com and thanks again. We need to hear all the updated info we can get our hands on. If I can help, let me know. It probably wouldn't hurt if ALLOT of the sick Veterans and family members do some writing too. I would appreciate it if you would send me that address for the Drudge Report. Thanks! "God Bless" Freda
: DU was certainly used in the Gulf and is no big secret to anyone in Armor. The armor piercing discarding sabot(APDS)round, which took out so much Iraqi armor consisted of a penatrator made of weapons grade DU. US forces relied on it as well as Soviet made APDS rounds. If you are perhaps refering to our "secret" armor on the M-1, it didn't in any way make use of DU. The big problem with DU in the Gulf was not using the round but rather being in contact with the vehicles which it hit. The penatator moved at such incredible speed that it would vaporize upon contact and coat everything with microscopic DU particles. The particles would normally be contained within the destroyed vehicle, unless said vehicle was a lightly armored vehicle such as a PC or even a truck, the vehicle was engaged at closer than normal range and was penatrated through or in many cases was boarded by personel for various reasons such as scouts searching for intel, souvenir hunters or intel personel(S-2) examining captured artifacts for intelligence. Basically, if you were in the gulf and handled Iraqui equipment you probably inhaled, ingested and recieved additional exposure from your clothing and equipment which was also exposed. As you may surmise I was in the Gulf, handled equipment as an intel NCO and I now suffer from GWI or as VA has variously diagnosed as PTSD, stress, GWS and now depression.
Hi Again Donny,
No I wasn't referring to THAT "Secret" but I'm glad to know about it now. I was referring to a personal knowledge. Can't say!
But, since I was in the Army myself, I knew the moment I hugged my husband at the airport when he returned that he had been exposed to chemicals. As you know, it's a smell that you can NEVER forget. To be sure that it wasn't just on him, I hugged another friend of ours from his Unit and the smell was on him too. I even made the remark and said "What did they do to you guys?" That's when I began watching him and slowly noticed the changes. Everything he brought home had that same smell and later the rest of his gear had it too. Thanks for answering, I just now noticed it. I'm sorry you're ill but it's good you can talk openly about it. My husband doesn't unless I bring it up and it just makes him that much more angrier and I can't blame him for feeling that way. First Vietnam and now this. God, this world has got to change. Thanks again Donny and God Bless!
