: I'm looking for gulf war vets who spent their tour entirely on ship, land duty was limited to a few practice landings in a couple of different places. I'm really messed up and want to hear from others who also have problems. Joe.

I was aboard ship for the entire tour and am also messed up. My time was with the Canadian navy. I have never been sure that my ailments were because of 'Gulf War Syndrome as all the military doctors and specialists have said that my complaints were due to aging and other "normal" occurances. Here is a partial list of the problems I have:
Joint pain - told it was arthritis
vision getting worse - told it was from aging (always had 20/20 until the gulf)
blurry vision - aging
rashes - called it a worry rash
stomach problems - poor diet
stress - family etc problems causing it
hair loss - aging
losing temper - part and parcel of stress
and the list goes on. My problem is that because I spent the tour on ship how could I be affected. Unless it was was from all the shots and pills we were given.
