Hi everyone..I just read up on something in a headache newsletter and would like to share it with you. I have not tried this yet but if anyone else has, please respond for all of us to see. This is the jest of it. A recent ... study found peppermint oil applied to forehead as massage oil was effective in relieving tension-type headache...another study found combination of peppermint and eucalyptus oils effective in 40% of patients. Is thought that the peppermint oil stimulates the nerve fibers that register cold and may act as a distracting nerve signal that reduces pain information sent to the brain. After applied, it said it showed significant reduction in headache intensity 15 min afterward. I suffer from migraines as well as tension-type but to me anything is worth a try at this point. If all else fails, at least I'll smell pepperminty and it has to help to relax you if nothing else.
