: : I have had chronic daily headaches for 2 yrs. now. I have consulted neurologists, ENT's, family physicians, allergists, and psychiatrists. The pain resembles pressure on top of the head and sharp, stabbing pain on left side of head which pulsates down left side of the face. The pressure tends to move around the head and does not stay in one spot. I have taken many medications, including imitrex, elavil, nortryptaline, butalbital, sulindac, fiorinal, fioricet, and OTC products. I have had MRI's, which are normal. I have also tried accupuncture with limited success. My headache started suddenly at work one day. Physicians do not know what is the cause of my headaches and some state that it is all in my head, that is, psychological. I disagree. Has anyone else experienced the same, undiagnosed, unexplained symptoms, and if so, what types of relief, including medications and alternative remedies, can you recommend? PLEASE HELP!!

: Seems like you've tried just about everything. What about Chiropractic?
: I've had chronic tension headaches for almost twenty years. They started gradually (I can actually remember the first one!), and increased over the years. Now, I always have a headache, although sometimes it is low grade. I have also tried many medications, although most of them just treat the symptoms, rather than doing anything about the headaches. I also tried accupuncture, biofeedback, cafergot, diet, exercise, etc. Nothing helped. Recently, I increased my dosage of paxil, which I take for depression, and I have noticed that my headaches have become noticeably less severe. I have been taking paxil for years at a lower dosage, and it never seemed to affect the headaches untyil now. The increase was modest -- I just needed to find the right threshold. My headaches aren't gone, they're just better. I'm grateful for any improvement. Hope this helps.
