Ear wax build-up, can't hear. Help

I have wax build up in right ear, getting worse and cannot hear at all, what can I do besides go to doctor, what home treatments can I first try, nto day 3 of it and gettig worse, had it happe about 4 years ago, went to doctor and while he was flushing ear he busted eardrum, do nt want to go through that again, help please
