: I have wax build up in right ear, getting worse and cannot hear at all, what can I do besides go to doctor, what home treatments can I first try, nto day 3 of it and gettig worse, had it happe about 4 years ago, went to doctor and while he was flushing ear he busted eardrum, do nt want to go through that again, help please

Try some ear wax drops such as the brand name Debrox to soften the wax if it is hard. Sometimes that alone will cause the wax to remove itself. After 3 days of treatment use one of the home ear flushing kits that are available at your local pharmacy. As you know be careful with using this since you have seen how easy it is to puncture the eardrum. If these don't work then yes go to the doctor to have it flushed out but consider and ENT doctor who specializes in ear problems. Good luck. P.S. use the drops as needed once your ear is cleared so you don't have this problem any more.
