Sudden hearing loss

Sudden hearing loss

I'm frantic. Just came back from highly credentialed ear, nose and throat DR (otolaryngologist) who confirmed sudden hearing loss, quite severe, no apparant cause. I start tomorrow on steroids for 2 weeks as my only possible way to reverse this.

I mentioned that one week ago I started taking Quinine Sulfate, 325MG at night. This is the only new thing happening medically to me. The DR ignored this as a cause.

I just completed some internet research which names quinine as a possible cause for sudden hearing loss.

HELP! What's known about this?

Please help.
