Sudden Hearing Loss and the Flu

Two months ago I was diagnosed with "Sudden Hearing Loss" in my right ear. It apparently was caused by a virus. The only remarkable thing I remember when I suffered the hearing loss is that I had a flu (not different to any other I got before). Now I'm having a strong flu (6 days by now) and I don't feel very well in my nose, throat and ears. Do I have a serious risk of suffering the same problem in my left ear? Should I consider this a medical emergency and seek medical atention inmeadiatly?
