: Interesting. Maybe get in touch with a neurologist. I have about 65-70db loss in both ears, yet I feel that my hearing, or what is left of it, is acutely sensitive. Like an animal in the woods. If I had normal hearing, maybe I would be like you. Wearing hearing aides drives me ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. I cannot eat with them in, the noises inside my head put me off the food. Good Luck, email me if you find out what is wrong with your hearing at Asleep6759@aol.com Thanks!

I've lost 85% right and 65% left, in hi freqs. My audiologist said that as I lose hearing in the upper frequencies, I will continue to become over-sensitive in the lower frequencies. With or without my aids, I can't tolerate noises that everyone arround me seems to take in stride (train announcements, etc.) I have to cover my ears. Some days I wear earplugs on the train.
