I've had ear problems since I was a small child and have had tube in both ears many times. One ear has a permanant hole in it. This ear is my "good" ear. I live in the mountains and travel up and down them alot in the car do to my job. My "bad ear does not "pop"
The pain and pressure gets so bad it goes down my chin and neck, my eye waters and finally after maybe 1/2 hr to 1 hour it pops. I usually take a claritan daily before traveling. I chew gum, eat ice,
yawn, blow my nose, hold my nose and blow etc. Is there anything else I can do?? I have an appt in a month with an e.n.t but in the meantime I dread having to travel. After my ear pops I'm fine but the ear still hurts for a day or two. My physician says it's not infected and he can't see any problem other than scar tissue. I'd appreciate any help you can give, I hate to give up traveling and I'd like to fly in a small plane sometime but would not chance it now. Thanks again
