Dear Dafna,
I have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction. I have also done a lot of research on the subject. As far as the cause of this problem, the professionals say that it is sinus related or allergy related. I have neither and I am still looking for a cause. I do not belive that sensitive ears would be a cause due to the fact that ETD is swelling of the mucos membranes, it's more of a virus, bacteria, fluid... type problem. For instance, noise could not cause swelling or fluid. At least I wouldn't think so.
As far as getting help, I agree with Mary. Go get yourself a GOOD ENT doctor. There are treatments for ETD. There are alot of meds and different non-medical things you can try. Although, they did not work for me. I had to have tubes inserted in my ears and I am enjoying my recovery.
Also, this health board is great, but you may find more information on your problem in the "Inner Ear" message board, rather than the "Hearing Disorders" board.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
