I too have ETD and it was not a result of flying. I tried all of the decongestants and anithistimines as well and received no relief. About 4 months ago, I had tubes inserted in my ears. These are the same tubes that little kids get. The surgery was done on an out patient basis and was very quick. After care of the tubes was miminal and they will fall out on their own in 6 to 9 months. I have gotten extreme relief from the surgery and would have them put back in when they fall out if I continue to have a problem. Anyone with ETD, I would HIGHLY recommend having the tubes inserted. If you have any more questions, post back. I check here often.
Best of Luck to you.
