: About a year ago I started to have severe dizziness, it knocked me off my feet and I felt it so difficult to cope with. Although I have got slighty better the problem still remains. At the time I also had a bad headache as though some-one was pushing down on the top of my head. I went to see my doctor who gave me tablets for vertigo. These did not work so then she gave me decongestants, this did not work either. The problem got worse so I went back to my doctor who suggested I was suffering from Labyrinthitis he then gave me strong tablets to cope with the dizziness, this just seemed to make me feel worse. So because of the headaches he sent me for a X-Ray on my head. Luckily these came back negative so eventually he sent me to see an ENT Specialist. I went through a range of tests, hearing tests, balance tests and also an hearing test which monitors the way brain reacts to sounds. This done he told me there was a problem on the left side, maybe something to do with the nerves.
: I have recently been for a MRI Scan and have been told I must go back for another so they inject me with dye to show up the scan more. This is not what I wanted to hear as you can imagine, so I am still waiting for the conclusion on this 12 months on. The dizziness is nowhere as near as bad as it was but its still there, sort of bubbling away under the surface. the headaches have gone away, they disappeared after a month. Its so hard to try to describe to people how your're feeling and it changes from day to day. I so wish I could feel like my old self again, some days it can be a struggle to keep things going. Please please if anyone has any suggestions or has been through something like this, or just want to tell me thier experiences, I would be grateful for any imput.
: Thanx

Samantha, I have had similar problems for the past 2 years. I had a tooth filled and had a shot to numb my gum prior to the filling. After that I noticed my right ear was feeling full and stopped up. I went to a Dr. and I was treated for sinus infections. That did not help so they tried numerous medications. I have now been to 3 ENT's. The most recent one seems to be more helpful. Or I thought so,anyhow. I had a tube put in my right ear a month ago and I was told that this would open up the eustachian tube but it could take a few weeks.I am going back to the Dr tomorrow, since I have not had any luck with it opening. I have alot of lightheadedness when I am driving my car. It seems that the pressure builds up so much more in my ear when I am in a closed car. Do you notice this problem ,too?I am glad to find this site, and know I am not alone with this problem. You can email me at Indydo@AOL.COM
